For a person to be successful both in his professional and personal life, soft skills play key role than the hard skills. Whatever a person is so skilled technically, it will be possible to get the maximum productivity from himself/herself and from the team, only with right soft skills, especially when the person goes up in the ladder. In many instances, improper communications kill the motive of the original communication. If the sender knew that he is responsible for completion of communicating, he could have avoided the problem.

Many people wash their hands, by putting 10-15 people in “To” of e-mails and 20-50 people in CC (we are not sure, how many people, they put in bcc). If a job has to be done properly, the communication should be sent to the responsible person only, if needed copy to 1 or 2 relevant people (excluding some group communication like circular, etc.)

There are some people who always look at different direction than the team. Maybethey are right. But they should convince the team so entire can work together and succeed in total.

Many people want to complicate things and try to resolve them so that they are felt important by their managers and Top Management. But this is not fact. Managers watch their people and their contribution. So, the approach should be, to break the complicated issues into small things, find out root causes and solution to the problems and make things better. During this process, whatever knowledge gained, that also should be shared with the colleagues.

There are many people who don’t know how to manage their time and also their priority Finally, the person would have ended up in doing low priority activity with long time with lot of overtime in office and the person also would have enough shoot at home for late coming and next day from boss, for not doing top priority job.

Above are very few examples. There are many more cases which result in to complication, demotivation, politics, reduced efficiency and effectiveness and ultimately company’s success is pulled down.

So, it is very important to continuously improve the soft skills of the employees in an organization in regular frequency.
